( EN) “School of scientists” competition celebrated his Award Ceremony in Portugal

Awards Ceremony of the competition «School of Scientists», a contest sponsored by Socientize project and coordinated by the University of Coimbra in partnership with the Science Museum of the University of Coimbra with the support of the Center for Neuroscience and Cell Biology, University of Coimbra, was held last 27th june.

The «School of Scientists» contest, directed to the school community, is one of these initiatives designed to reward students and schools more participative in Citizen Science and Volunteer Computing activities, streamlined by Socientize project with the following objectives: to encourage students to participation in Citizen Science and Volunteer Computing activities; foster a love of science; and encourage a spirit of healthy competition.

In addition to the awards ceremony, the event was intended to be an important awareness session for Citizen Science, which highlighted the importance of the role of the citizen in the production of scientific knowledge and recognized the participation of cooperating in this project different entities.

Ceremony was held last 27th june, and after a visit to the Gallery of the Museum of Science Zoology, session opens with professor Paulo Gama Mota speech “Citizen Science: what kind of social involvement in science?» and closes with awards ceremony.
