CITIZEN SCIENCE

Thanks to the enormous technological, economical and social developments, new scenarios of digital collaboration are emerging on a global scale. Not only we want to take advantage of all that volunteers have to offer to science but also want to study how this great virtual brain, that is learning how to work collectively to solve global challenges. In this space you will find different jobs dedicated to several forms of participation in science and virtual learning. For all cases, your contribution is real and useful. Enjoy and share!

COULD YOU IMAGINE WHAT WE CAN DO IF WE START TO SOLVE PROBLEMS ALL TOGETHER?

This space is dynamic , we want more and better experiments . And we need your opinion. Please before or after visiting us, we would like you to complete this questionnaire

EXPERIMENTS

MIND PATHS

Understanding the brain and drawing conclusions about how we relate concepts is a very complex task . Think of your memory as a network, in which the words are linked with each other if they have any semantic relationship . In this game we will show the words with their neighbors , and look to see the number of leaps in all directions from a source to a target word , studying the strategies and intermediate trails that follow each .

Researcher : Javier Borge, BIFI -University of Zaragoza http://cosnet.bifi.es

TEST DE TURING

With an interface created for this experiment , you can participate with others and find out if you interacted with another participant or against a computer.

MALARIASPOT

Help combat malaria parasites hunting ! Join a group of players around the world with them to diagnose real patients with malaria. The more parasites there are, you contribute more data to fight the disease. Worldwide, there are over 600,000 cases of malaria per day. A child dies of malaria every minute. However, this disease is easily treatable , if diagnosed and treated quickly. The diagnosis can take up to 30 minutes of time from a specialist, while seeking blood parasites manually under a microscope. So we ask for your help.

SUN4ALL

Understanding what happens in the center of our solar system is also a way to better understand what is happening on our planet , for example to study the effect of man on the climate. Since the early twentieth century have been taking pictures of the sun daily. The analysis of tens of thousands of digital images is vital to study all the phenomena occurring on the Sun, its activity and its cycles .
